Why We Are Different

The goal here at Patton Avenue Pet Company is to be more than just a retail pet supply store. We aim to be a resource center for Asheville’s pet-loving community. This includes more than just the books on nutrition, health and training that can be borrowed from our companion animal library. We also have a staff that is knowledgeable in these areas and more, and will do our best to help you make the most out of your relationship with your pet. Furthermore, we will have local and regional experts holding seminars, workshops, and classes on a range of companion animal topics. We work closely with local rescue organizations, even fostering kitties from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue! Finally, we aim to connect our customers to each other through events at our West Asheville location’s dog park, since each of you hold a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Pet supplies are, of course, the reason we are here in the first place, and we have worked hard to put together a selection of food, treats, toys and other assorted supplies that both you and your four-legged friends will absolutely love. We only stock food that is nutritionally appropriate for your best friend.

This means:

  • no meat byproducts or unspecified meat meals
  • no artificial coloring, additives or preservatives
  • minimal fillers (all of our foods are corn, wheat and soy free)
  • maximum probiotics, vitamins, and minerals

Our supply assortment focuses on high-quality, made-in-America products that are durable enough to withstand the toughest chewers so they won’t end up in a landfill next week. We also emphasize natural and “green” products that are good not just for your pet but for the environment too. Finally, we aim to support the local economy and independent crafters by sourcing as many local products as possible.
